One year ago, I pressed the button to release DLC Quest on the Xbox LIVE Indie Games marketplace. Seems like only yesterday!
For giggles, here’s how it performed over the past 366 days on Xbox:
|Days on Marketplace:||366|
|Number of Trials:||50462|
|Number of Purchases:||46405|
|Average # of Purchases per day:||126|
If you do the math (but don’t, I have already done it for you), that works out to (on average) a copy of DLC Quest purchased on Xbox roughly every 11 minutes for the past year.
Huge thank you to everybody who played it, talked about it, emailed me about it, and just generally supported me over the past year!
Oh, and DLC Quest is sitting in 6th place over on Steam Greenlight. Give it a vote, would you?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, Canada – October 5, 2012 – Going Loud Studios is proud announce the first downloadable campaign for “DLC Quest”, winner of Official Xbox Magazine’s Xbox Indie Game of the Year 2011. The new campaign, “Live Freemium or Die”, is being developed to sweeten the deal in the bid to win a spot in the top 10 on Steam Greenlight. No gimmicks or kitten threats – just new content.
Oft requested, “Live Freemium or Die” is a brand new campaign that will give players a new world to explore, new enemies to face and of course, new DLC to purchase. With in-game coins. Because it would just be silly with real money. More NPCs, more jumping, more satire, more Industry Foible Fun Poking (patent pending).
“Live Freemium or Die” will be included with “DLC Quest” should it manage to get the Greenlight from Valve. It currently sits in 23rd place on the service. The new campaign will be released in Q4 2012 for PC, Mac and Xbox 360. With your help, that could include Steam.
